About the Prints

All prints are made by West Coast Imaging/Aspen Creek Photo on the Chromira printer.  The Chromira uses lasers to expose digital photographic paper.  This produces a print which is very sharp and has good color saturation.   The print size listed is the actual image size; a white border is added to allow for easier matting and framing.

The suggestions listed below, when followed, will allow you to get the longest life out of your prints and ensure that colors don't fade:

  • When framing your print, make sure you use archival grade materials which are acid free (pH neutral) from a reputable source.  One place I've done business with before and recommend is Light Impressions.  Also make sure you use UV resistant glass or acrylic.
  • Hang your framed image in a place where it won't be subjected to direct sunlight.  Nothing is guaranteed to damage your print faster than UV rays.
  • If you're having someone else do the framing, ask them to use archival quality materials.
